Fortus Safety, we are excited for the future and proud of our past

Fortus Safety is the new name for Amare Safety, a brand that has been keeping Kiwi's safer since 2004.

But the company’s history goes much further back. The Amare brand was originally founded in Australia in 1985 and has been a trusted supplier of personal protective safety equipment and services for over 40 years.

We’re very proud of our history and in NZ we have always been passionate about providing the very best safety products and keeping people safe.

So if we are proud of what we've achieved, why are we changing our name and going through the time consuming and complicated process of re-branding?

The fact is Amare Safety is an Australian company, and while the business in NZ is privately owned and operated by Kiwis, we felt it was time we created a brand that reflected who we are and what we stand for.

So the name, our logo and website has changed, but more importantly our passion for providing the very best safety equipment and helping to keep people safe, remains unchanged.

We have always focused on the customer, because in a crowded and competitive market like New Zealand, we know that low prices are not enough and that outstanding customer service, expert technical advice, and stock availability/fast delivery is equally important.

As for our new name Fortus Safety, you might be interested to know it was inspired by a word from ancient Rome - FORTIS, meaning ’Strong/Powerful/Brave’.

We think it’s the perfect name for a company obsessed with keeping you safe.
